Modelled by Christian Thomsen, who modelled many pieces for RC over the time he worked for them. He sculpted over 100 figures. He is arguably the most popular of Royal Copenhagen's modeller as far as collectors are concerned due to his wide variety of models. This model is sometimes named as "Boy With Stick" or "Fisherman" instead of the name "Whittler". This piece is very detailed with lots to look at. What the boy is working on with the stick is up to interpretation, as it can be seen as a fishing rod or the handle of a whip. This piece is from the 1900's.
The year of manufacture of each individual item is indicated by dots and dashes above or below the letters on the base; this one has a dash under the N in Copenhagen, telling us it is from 1980-84
This is a lovely figure
He is just over 7 inches tall
