This print is entitled "The Unexplored City ". This is one of his earlier paintings featuring architecture and the simple life of France
This print was issued as an open print, also known as a calendar print because these open prints were made into calendars.
Sir William Russell Flint 1880-1969
Scottish born he lived in England, Italy, France and Spain. His skill as a Watercolour artist was once described by the then President of The Royal Academy as a " Baffling Skill ".
Many of his paintings featured Mediterranean ladies dancing or resting in flowing ruffled skirts, often without wearing tops or very much at all.
Good solid frame 20.5 inches by 16 inches; print size is 14 inches by 9 inches. Frame has wear marks and knocks commensurate with age.
